These past few weeks have been pretty crazy for all of us. Quarantine and social distancing guidelines have definitely made life harder, and we are all adjusting to our new normal. While the US Malbek team has always worked remotely and many of us are pros at working from home, the pandemic has changed the feel of normal business life. Spouses and partners are now home too. Children need help homeschooling, and pets can't understand why we never leave the house anymore.
During such challenging times, I am truly proud of how the Malbek team has banded together, supporting our customers and one another. Each one has risen to the occasion and continued to perform at a level to be proud of.
To stay connected and celebrate some recent successes, this past Friday, Malbek hosted a virtual lunch/happy hour for employees and their families. Being part of a start-up isn't the easiest thing in the world, and this was a small way to give back and say thanks. Malbek bought lunch for everyone from local restaurants in order to support small businesses that are struggling to stay afloat during the COVID-19 quarantine. And then we hopped on video chat, shared our meals, an adult beverage (like Malbec 😉), and even enjoyed a little impromptu jam session.
As a software provider, we love to see how technology can bridge the gap that physically separates us right now. Even though right now we can't be in the same place, we can still foster community and build relationship. Regardless of time zone or geography and thanks to the power of the internet, we can be #AloneTogether.
