A Year in Review: 2022

What a year 2022 has been. Malbek has grown exponentially this year, all thanks to our amazing team. We’ve seen a lot of changes and a lot of improvements. It’s been a good year! So, without further ado, here’s 2022 in review

Growth

We aren’t joking when we say that we saw some serious hypergrowth. We easily doubled our revenue. Of the many organizations we gained as customers this year, a large swath was large enterprises. Actually, of our large enterprise deals, about half are companies listed as Fortune 500 or higher.

Our very first physical office opened up in April as well! This is a huge milestone, as we were fully remote for years. This, in my mind, has really transformed us from “just another tech start-up” to a real industry disruptor. It’s also great to see that our office culture blossom into a reflection of who we are at our core.

Additionally, we added two new VPs this year. First, we welcomed Ben Willis, our VP of Products, in February. He was brought on to lead innovation for our team. He has brought many things to the table for us and has expanded on so many aspects of our product. Then, in July, we welcomed Rich Colie as our VP of Finance to support our ongoing growth. He leads all financial functions for us and has been an absolute pleasure to work with.

Culture

This year we formed our very first DEI committee to ensure all are welcomed, respected, and heard at Malbek.  As a result, we also launched our DEI page to illustrate that we are a company of action, not just talk. Our goals for DEI can be understood in our mission statement:

“Malbek is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We do not just state our belief in these values, we seek to embody them in everything that we do. We are guided by our belief that every individual should feel comfortable and rejoice in being their complete authentic selves – at work and outside of work. This empowers us to reach our full potential, fueling innovation and connection with our employees, customers, partners and the communities we serve and represent.”

2022 also saw the launch of our employee health and wellness program. Our employees routinely go above and beyond with their work. It’s too easy to overwork yourself in this digital world. Our employees are what make Malbek as inviting and successful as we are now. So, I wanted to make sure that no one was getting burnt out or not taking care of themselves.

With the help of our HR team, we created a program where all employees would be given a half day every so often to relax, unwind, and recharge. To help them do that, we send them a gift card of their choice to support their wellness endeavors. We have surely seen the benefits, and I am happy to reward all of my hard-working employees for the impact they make on our community every day.

Product

A major theme of this year’s product development was “insights, integrations, and analytics”. We focused on making the Malbek ecosystem as interactive and easy-to-read as possible. In the process, we tripled our R+D team to achieve (and maintain) our goals.

We expanded our AI capabilities and rebranded our AI solution (previously known as IONN) to Lifecycle AI. To reach our integration goals, our R&D team worked endlessly to rigorously build, test, and launch dozens of new integrations to our Konnect marketplace. We also expanded our analytical capabilities by fine-tuning our dashboards and workflow processes.

Additionally, we achieved one goal we have had in mind since day one of this year: we launched our new product Malbek Klix™. Klix is our clickwrap solution that is the one-click-wonder for online agreements. It makes configuring, implementing, storing, and enforcing high-volume online agreements easier than ever before. The best part? Klix can be used as a stand-alone product or in tandem with our flagship CLM platform, Malbek Contrax, so everyone can enjoy an intuitive interface with one login, one repository, and one set of reports.

Whew! That’s a lot of growth for one year, and that’s not even half of it! As I bid 2022 ado, I hope 2022 has been as good to you as it has been to us. We can’t wait to see what 2023 brings to the table!

Cheers!
